January 2019

We had a very busy January!  Two of the highlights was our trip to the mountains with friends and Hailey's 2nd Birthday!
The trip to the mountains was interesting...13 adults and 12 children ranging in age from 1.5 years old to 9 years old all crammed into one house!?
The kids were surprisingly great with everyone getting along for the most part.  Hailey of course chose this time to exert her authority.  She wanted to sleep with me or on me and wouldn't even let Justin hold her without throwing an epic fit which would wake the whole house. So, for 3 nights we were very cozy, the four of us in a queen sized bed.  Yes, Addy slept with us too!  She tried to stay in the kids bunk bed room, but every night she'd wander in.
Next up, Hailey turned 2!  It seems like yesterday when we had her, but also like a million years ago.  She is a sassy, bossy, happy, snuggly little girl.  She definitely thinks she runs the house (and she might)...she loves her big sis so much and we constantly hear, "I Love you Addy" which completely melts my heart.  Every morning when we drop Addy off at school you can hear Addy telling Hailey she will see her after school and they exchange I love you's. Addy continues to be just the best big sister.  She puts up with a lot of crap from Hailey but takes most of it in stride.
Hailey had her 2 year well checkup the day after her birthday.  I spoke with the doctor about her horrible sleeping habits (waking at night for sometimes 3 hours at a time).  She gave me some helpful pointers, but noted we have a very stubborn child on our hands and anything we enforce we have to stick tight with it.  Some of us are better then others at laying down the law (aka Justin).  She listens better to him because he doesn't take as much crap from her!  Anyways, here are her stats -
Weight - 26lbs 9.5oz (50th %)
Height - 33'' (37th %)
Head Circumference - 18.5'' (37th %)

She of course put up a fight when she needed to sit to be weighed and when we told her to stand against the wall for her height.  I think she remembers the times they have given her shots because she doesn't seem to mind once the doctor comes in to check her out.

All in all, it's been a good month!

December 2018

We started December off with getting our Christmas tree.  The girls enjoyed running around the trees and also eating all the candy canes they could!  We also got out first snowstorm of the season.  We probably got 7 inches of snow and Addison was over the moon excited.  She was able to go outside with her new neighbor friends and enjoy several hours of snow fun.  Justin & Addy walked down the street with the rest of the neighbors to do some sleigh riding.  Hailey could have cared less about the snow and wasn't impressed with the harder snow hitting her face.  I spent most of the time in doors with her and when we went back out, she sought shelter in the garage or in the trunk of my car.  She liked watching the other kids play in the snow, but wasn't interested in joining in.
We had a short visit with Santa in our neighborhood because Hailey wasn't having it.  She wanted to watch Santa's every move, but didn't want to get close to him.  Addy on the other-hand was great and told him what she wanted for Christmas.
Addy lost not one, but two teeth towards the end of the month!  She looks so cute with a huge gap in the front and she enjoys looking at herself in the mirror.
We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house with everyone.  It was a nice afternoon and surprisingly neither of the girls were sick, so i consider this a HUGE win!
Christmas morning we woke up and opened our gifts.  Hailey was really only interested in her new climbing toy with the slide.  Soon after, my whole family came over to enjoy some breakfast before parting ways.  After everyone took a nap (except Justin) we went over to Gannon & Becky's to have Christmas dinner with them and Becky's parents.  The girls were overjoyed with their gifts from them!
The day after Christmas, Justin's parents arrived and the girls were ecstatic to see them.  Addy was so excited and was so happy to finally show them her new house.
We celebrated our Christmas with the Crooks on that Saturday.  It was a perfect ending to 2018.
