October has been such a long, long crazy month!
We were able to finally sell our townhouse after living in it for over 10 years. It was such a bittersweet moment, but we are so looking forward to moving into a place with a yard for the girls. It's crazy to think about everything we did & accomplished at the townhouse. We brought all of our babies home to this place and that is hard to think about! It's been a wonderful place for us, but we just outgrew it and it was time to find something before Addy got too old.
We moved out of Bright Loop for good on Saturday, October 6th, our 11 year wedding anniversary! We moved most everything into storage (which included pretty much all of mine & Justin's colder weather stuff) and we setup our temporary living situation at my parents house.
The weekend after we moved in with my parents, Amanda, Emy & her dogs came to live with my parents as well for an extended weekend while Ian stayed back home to rip up their flooded basement! Amanda's area got some hurricane weather which caused her basement to flood and their house to be without electricity for about 5 days. The house was SO FULL, but it was a nice treat for everyone to get to hang out for a bit.
The girls including Brinkley have loved living with my parents. It has been nice having extra hands to help out! We celebrated Addison's 7th Birthday at my parents house and as usual the child was spoiled beyond belief by family members. We had her friend birthday party at a place called Flour Power where they made different desserts. They all had WAY too much sugar, but they loved every minute of it.
During our stay, we found a house that we loved and put a bid on. It was a quick turnaround, but we were confident we could do it.
After a few weeks of craziness, the townhouse was finally sold on Friday, October 26th, only 16 short days after we were supposed to close! We officially bought our new house on Englehardt Drive on Monday, October 29th. After we signed the paperwork we headed over to the new place to meet up with kids. They ran around like crazy kids and were super excited. Justin & I are really looking forward to move in day!
Last up for October was Halloween. Addy dressed up as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter and Hailey was a baby cow. It was a warmer Halloween night then we've had in past years and the girls had fun trick-or-treating. Hailey really got the hang of it quickly and her big sis was very sweet and held her hand or waited for her most of the time. If Hailey didn't make it up to a door, Addison was sure to grab a piece of candy that looked suitable for Hailey and brought it back to her. Too sweet!
